GES brings back PTAs in all SHSs, Technical and STEM Schools

The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the nationwide come back of the Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in all Senior High, Technical and STEM Schools.

The come back /or reinstatement of the PTAs was officially announced by GES under the signature of Daniel Fenyi, the Head of Public Relations at GES on Thursday July 17, 2025.

According to the reinstatement announcement, GES stated that they are going by the directive of His Excellency, the President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama, on the full reinstatement of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in all pre-tertiary schools across the country, GES hence, they have now officially informed parents, teachers, and stakeholders in the education sector to support the restructuring of the education sector.

“In line with this directive, Management of GES has instructed all Heads of Public Senior High, Technical and STEM Schools to operationalise the reinstatement of PTAs with immediate effect. This move is aimed at strengthening the collaboration and involvement of parents, communities and teachers in the delivery of quality education to Ghanaian learners.”

“Further guidelines detailing the structure, roles, and financial accountability mechanisms for the effective functioning of PTAs will be issued in due course. These measures are intended to promote transparency, uniformity, and efficiency in the operations of PTAs nationwide.”

GES calls on the stakeholders to help PTAs gain traction across all pre-tertiary. “The Ghana Education Service counts on the support of all stakeholders to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of this important policy.
