Ministry of Sports signs MoU with NSS for personnel deployment to sports organizations

The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Service Scheme (NSS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) geared at accepting to deploy NSS personnel to carry out their one-year mandatory service at key sports organisations.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 and attended by a number of collaborators who pledged their unwavering support for the initiative and assured its successful implementation.

Elaborating on the reasons behind the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Mr. Mustapha Ussif (Minister for Youth and Sports) disclosed that the taken step will synergize academic knowledge with practical experience in order to improve the positioning and promotion not excluding the branding of various clubs and federations to enable them to compete on an international scale.

According to the Minister for Youth and Sports, some NSS personnel are endowed with what it takes to compete and cause a positive effect in the world of sports therefore they ought to tap and utilise those talents.

The signed MoU will allow the Scheme, NSS to deploy personnel to key sports organisations where they will offer their knowledge and abilities in the fields like social media, marketing, physiotherapy psychology, finance, and many other fields that can contribute to the sports fraternity.

Talking about the way out and strength of the signed MoU, Hon. Ussif added that NSS should “Remain committed to the successful implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding and together so that they “can drive youth and sports development in Ghana to unprecedented heights.”

He also empowered the involved parties in the MoU to bring out the best in the initiative and grow organisations ally to sports development in Ghana.

Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi (NSS National CEO) added that the collaboration will add branding to the Scheme because they will be noted for the deployment of competent personnel who will add more to the world of sports.

The move according to him will boost marketing, a critical area for sporting clubs where personnel will be allowed to design marketing strategies that will lead to sponsorship for the local leagues in Ghana as well among other benefits and opportunities.
