Registration: NSS Opens Portal for defaulters and private candidates for 2024/2025 Service Year

The Management in a release dated April 10, 2024, the registration portal for defaulters and private candidates for the 2024/2025 service year is now open for Ghanaian citizens who were unable to enrol for their national service in previous years after completing their tertiary education.

Eligible applicants include previous applicants who started but could not complete their national service, private applicants certified by accredited tertiary institutions, and Ghanaian nationals who have studied abroad.

To register, applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. A letter requesting a PIN Code or reactivation of PIN Code
  2. A certified true copy of School Certificate or Transcript
  3. Evidence of Deferment Letter (if applicable)
  4. An Attestation/Introductory Letter from the institution attended
  5. A copy of the Ghana Card
  6. A copy of Student ID
  7. Original copies of these documents must be attached for verification. Foreign students must provide proof of study abroad.

All eligible candidates are required to submit registration documents to any of the Regional Offices of the Scheme across the country or the NSS Headquarters in Accra from today, April 10, 2024, to Friday, June 28, 2024 between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., except weekends and public holidays.

The public is reminded that the Ghana National Service Scheme Act, 1980 (Act 426) mandates any person who is a citizen of Ghana, has attained the age of eighteen years or more, and has completed an accredited tertiary institution to undertake national service to the State.
