Ghana National Service Scheme (NSS) has released the first batch of a NSS Posting for all newly Trained Teachers across the forty-six (46) Colleges of Education in Ghana to enable them to undertake the mandatory one-year service.
As part of the mandatory one-year service to the nation, national service personnel has to check their portal after posting is released, confirm, and validate the letter before the slated date for service commencement at their various school of placement or posted institution.
Below are all the needed steps on how to check your NSS posting before printing it for submission finally.
The steps are as follows:
1. Kindly visit the Scheme’s online portal at https://portal.nss.gov.gh/sign-in
2. Log in with the requested credentials and proceed.
3. Key in your NSS ID/NSS number.
Be informed that the NSS ID/NSS number was sent to you after submitting your details for registration earlier. It starts with NSS*****
4. The next action is submission. Make sure you select the button titled “Submit” and wait for the response before you proceed.
5. Here, a menu will appear with Show posting letter.
6. Kindly select it, and go through it carefully in order to confirm that your details are in place. (You will see the school you have been posted to).
7. The last option is to print the letter.
The letter will be submitted to the Regional Director for signing. You have to submit a copy to the Head of the Institution you have been posted to for reference sake.
Keep a copy in your file as well for other needed emergencies.

NSS Secretariat has started the posting. Enrollment for the mandatory one-year service starts on 14th February 2024 to 28th February, 2024 for the first batch.
How much is NSS allowance 2024?
NSS allowance is Gh¢715.57. On the 23rd of July 2023, the Scheme published that they have increased the personnel from GH¢559.04 to GH¢715.57.

As of 2022, NSS personnel are paid GH¢599.00. Years back, in 2014, the NSS allowance was increased with GH¢107.00. Initially, it was GH¢243.48 before the increment (GH¢350) as the new NSS Allowance. However, on the 23rd of July 2023, the Scheme published that they have increased the personnel from GH¢559.04 to GH¢715.57.
