Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has disclosed all needed details for processing allowance of Teacher Trainees across the forty-six (46) accredited Colleges of Education (CoE).
REQUIREMENTS FOR PROCESSING ALLOWANCE
To receive allowance, you need the following:
- A SSNIT number.
- An e-zwich account from any bank.
- An active phone number.
ALLOWANCE AMOUNT AND DISBURSEMENT
Every eligible student is entitled to GH400.00 per month in every semester of an academic year.
SLTF receives and disburses GH204.00. The said amount is disbursed as follows:
Out of the GH¢204.00, they pay GH¢200.00 directly to the student’s e-zwich account for withdrawal.
The GH¢4.00 is paid to TTAG as dues. The remaining GH¢196.00 is paid directly to the Principals of the various Colleges of Education (CoE) to cater for feeding and other expenses on behalf of the students.
SUBMISSION OF DATA FOR DISBURSEMENT
All registered students across the 46 Colleges of Education should submit their relevant and correct, genuine details to the Principals or allocated office in their College for submission to the Fund.
However, the Fund said students are to ensure that their names and spelling on their admission letters or ID card should match the names on both their SSNIT and e-zwich cards.
They also added that any difference in name or spelling will result in failed validation and subsequent delay or non-payment of allowance.
WHERE TO CHANGE NAME FOR ALLOWANCE
In a situation where students want to make changes in their names, they should contact their Principals or allowance unit in their Colleges of Education and request for amendment.
Be informed that any change should be supported by relevant documents.
In addition, students who are deferred or suspended are not entitled to allowance for the period that they are not in school.
Also, students who are repeated or withdrawn due to poor academic performance and readmitted in the same College or change College would not be paid the allowance for the additional years they spend in school.
