The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) officially published the list of names of candidates from the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) who are allegedly involved in widespread collusion. These candidates have been called to assist the Council’s investigation.

The under-listed candidates who took part in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School and Private Candidates, 2025, and were allegedly involved in mass collusion are invited to report on the assigned dates and at designated location indicated by their names.
WAEC stated that “The invitation is to assist the Council to conclude its investigations into the alleged mass collusion.”
“Candidates are hereby informed that their refusal to honor this invitation shall not preclude the council from making a final determination on the cases.”

The action undertaken by WAEC is intended to provide the alleged candidates with an opportunity to exonerate themselves from the accusations of examination malpractices brought against them.
