The Director-General of GES, Dr. Eric Nkansah has assured all Newly Trained Teachers that GES will work assiduously to upload the Regions, Districts, and names of schools into the GES recruitment portal to aid posting of Newly Trained Teachers.
According to a report released by Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers (CUTT), they attended a meeting with Ministry of Education (MoE) and Director-General of GES on 31st May, 2024 on the way forward for their members concerning posting.
In attendance, was, Director General of Ghana Education service, Dr. Eric Nkansah, CUTT delegation (Vudugah Solomon, Joshua Harford Mensah, Rita Agbenyo, and Afeyetso Famous).
The heads (MoE and Director-General) stated that posting will be done
with the considering of issues with the visually impaired persons (where to post them to with specialty).
At the meeting, CUTT delegation on behalf of CUTT members shared profound appreciation message and as well presented a citation of honor to the Director General (GES), Dr. Eric Nkansah.
On the issue of posting, the D-G, Dr. Eric Nkansah acknowledged the significant application recorded by the IT department already and added that, a communique will be published in the coming days, consisting of directives as to ease aid the recruitment process.
Below are the mentioned areas the directives will captured or focus on:
- All basic schools (PRIMARY/JHS) with vacancies across the country will be shortlisted and loaded into the system for our (candidates’) selection.
- Candidates will have the opportunity to choose a school of her/his preference provided the particular school is found among the considered schools in the system.
- Once the slot of a particular school gets exhausted, that school disappears automatically.
- Posting follows after the selection of the schools.
- Any school with no slot for teachers will not be included in the system.
- The schools will come with their regions and districts.
NB: Every candidate is assured of placement to the school of choice, provided the said school is found in the system.
According to GES, the above decisions was will help to prevent language barrier, traveling stress of newly trained teachers and lamentations teachers made after posting.
On the other side, the visually impaired teachers/facilitators will also have the opportunity to make their own choices for convenience. The special schools respectively to variance impairment are all involved and will be uploaded onto the system as well.
The meeting came to an end and was rescheduled to take place on Wednesday 5th June, 2024 in order to conclude on other important issues.
D-G of GES expressed his disgust and revoltion about the unprofessional attitude of some CUTT members. He reminded CUTT on their responsibility and the need to demonstrate professionalism in order to inculcate accepted values, norms and respect into the young generation through the discharge of our teaching dexterity.
He also advised that CUTT should be circumspect and constructive in our criticisms on shared thoughts on concerning issues to save themselves any bad music moving forward.
“Though we read all comments and taken notice of some individuals, we are not prepared to victimize anybody,” he added.
