The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has clarified the circulating news around the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) pass mark.
According to a release dated 12th September 2023 signed by Jephthah Nana Kwame, TTAG President, and John Edem Avedzi, General Secretary, it was stated categorically that there is no official communication from the teacher regulatory body, the National Teaching Council (NTC) about change in the GTLE pass mark.

We would like to address the upcoming Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) scheduled to take place from Wednesday September 13, 2023, to Friday September 15, 2023.
- There had been various concerns circulating regarding a possible increase in the pass mark from 50% to 70% for the GTLE. We wish to clarify that, as of this moment, there has been no official communication from the National Teaching Council (NTC) or any relevant authority regarding such a change in the pass mark. However, please be assured that the leadership of the Association is actively engaged in discussions and efforts to obtain official information or documents regarding any potential changes to the pass mark.
- As the GTLE approaches, we extend our best wishes and support to all Newly Trained Teachers who will be sitting for the examination. We understand that this is a crucial milestone in your educational journey, and we believe in your abilities to excel. We encourage you to stay focused. remain positive, and continue with your preparations diligently to pass the examination at all costs.
- Rest assured that any official updates or changes related to the GTLE pass mark will be communicated to you promptly once we receive official confirmation from the relevant authorities. In the meantime, please disregard any unofficial information or rumors that are circulating, and rely on official announcements from the NTC and TTAG for accurate and reliable information.
