New WhatsApp feature: How to edit sent messages

The widely known instant messaging platform owned by Meta (WhatsApp) has officially added a feature that can enable users to edit messages as many times as they want.

The feature was requested by the majority of users hence, making Meta include it in their interface for smooth and convenient use.

According to the update made by Meta, messages sent in a personal chat and groups can be edited but it is bounded by time.

The time frame to edit a message sent on WhatsApp is fifteen (15) minutes. It simply means if you send a message and spot an error in what you wrote, you have only 15 minutes to edit it again (the mistake message/text).

However, in a situation where you are editing the message (text) and the 15 minutes elapse, you can not correct that particular message.

HOW TO EDIT WHATSAPP MESSAGES

  1. To edit the message, kindly hold/long press the sent message.
  2. Locate the three dots at the right top corner and click it.
  3. A menu will appear with the options:

Copy

Edit

  1. Select “Edit” and make the necessary edit you want.
  2. After editing the text, you can send it

Be informed that the edited message will be tagged “edited” beneath it afterward for the recipient to know that it has been edited or modified.
