Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Mr. Felix Gyamfi, updates on issues surrounding NSA posting and reposting, including allowance payment and others.
In a social media post dated April 10, 2025, he shared he had seen hundreds of comments on social media expressing anger and worry over the Postings of Teachers from the Colleges of Education. He also added that he has received several calls expressing similar worries.
Describing the read comments and the calls received, he said most of the concerns are genuine, and others are also due to misinformation and, in part, deliberate malice.
Continuing, he said “I remain committed to making sure that our brothers and sisters are posted into communities where they are safeguarded on their meager allowances and also make sure that the schools in our rural communities have teachers so that these schools are not left without teachers. To strike the balance between these two important scenarios sometimes takes a few weeks. The National Service Teacher trainees remain the backbone of these rural schools, and to wake up to a situation where they have all disappeared will gravely affect learning outcomes in these communities.”
The Director-General further stated that “National Service is also currently undertaking significant reforms that will also eliminate “Posting Contractors” from the National Service institution . This is the practice that has come to be known as the “Special Postings” or “Repostings”. This is a practice where people advertise their services and receive payments from young prospective Service Personnel and assure them of specific places that otherwise should be freely available to all Service Persons.
On the topic of Special posting and reposting, he described it to be a criminal practice and advised “contractors” to desist from such acts.
“This criminal practice distorts the National Service Postings considerably from several perspectives. This is the practice I promised to clamp down on because it is fraudulent, immoral,, and abhorrent. I didn’t promise to stifle genuine Repostings because having worked at National Service for over a decade, I know there are also always genuine Repostings that need to be done on different grounds.”
He also shared insights on legit posting and reposting and assured the extension of the registration process.
“As the data, I have attached will show, I have made sure that over 3,000 Repostings have been done, and I am in constant touch with all the relevant parties and stakeholders to make sure that the requisite Repostings are done so that all our interests are safeguarded. I am hopeful that from this unsettling morning will emerge a practice where we will have all concerns brought forward before Postings are released by the NSA in the months ahead.”
“We will extend the registration time for several weeks to make sure that all our Service Personnel register and start their National Service so that one is left behind. I urge all with issues to use the established channels to let us have their concerns and they will be addressed.”
“I assure you, I have no ill-intentions or malice towards anyone, although one might not get it right at times my intentions are honest and genuine.”
