
Management of the National Service Authority (NSA) lists the total number of Colleges of Education (CoE) whose accreditation has expired.
According to the NSA, their outfit has released PIN Codes for trained teachers to commence the 2025/2026 National Service registration. The deadline for this registration, as announced by NSA, is February 28, 2025.
In the communique on the said subject, the Director-General of the National Service Authority, Felix Gyamfi, stated that some Colleges of Education have been affected due to their inability to renew their accreditation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). This, according to the NSA, has left many trained teachers willing to commence their National Service registration to face login challenges.
NSA urged the affected CoE to do the needful in other to facilitate the PIN code activation and registration for their students.
“The Authority, therefore, has urged affected Colleges of Education to engage the GTEC promptly to renew their accreditation status to facilitate PIN code activation and registration for their students.”
“Furthermore, out of the 9,082 successfully uploaded Trained Teachers, a total of 5,336 students come from institutions with Expired Accreditation, leaving only 3,746 students from institutions with Active Accreditation as recognised by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).”
“This means that out of the 36 Colleges of Education, only 14 institutions currently hold active accreditation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), whereas 22 institutions have their accreditation expired.”
“In line with NSA’s commitment to Compliance and Transparency, registrations prospective personnel from institutions with Expired Accreditation will have their registrations put on hold until their accreditation status with GTEC is regularized before they are posted for National Service,” NSA added.
