The Ghana National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) Constitutional Review Committee-2021 has reviewed the governing document (Constitution) in order for the smooth and effective running of the association’s affairs.
The association, National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) was formed in the year 1983 by the then Service personnel after they decided to participate in the nation’s (Ghana) National Service Scheme.
It was formed to champion good courses of all personnel deployed to User Agencies at the length and breadth of Ghana.
“We the National Service Personnel of the Republic of Ghana, having agreed to participate in the National Service Scheme of the Republic of Ghana, noting the importance of the adoption of a unified and cohesive approach towards advocacy for the welfare of service personnel as well as the improvement of the National Service Scheme and conditions of service towards development; having in mind the need to enhance such a struggle in a cordial, peaceful and democratic manner, do hereby enact, adopt and give ourselves this constitution; the grundnorm upon which the structures of the association are built; to secure for ourselves and posterity, the tenets of Rule of Law, Due Process, Separation of Powers, Constitutionalism, Transparency, Probity, and Accountability.”
NASPA is a longtime birthed association meant to serve as the mouthpiece of all National Service Personnel (NSP) during their one-year compulsory service to the nation before they can be posted as permanent staff across all sectors (where needed) of the country.
The revision of the governing document, NASPA Constitution was made in 2021 for the smooth running of the association to the core.
Even though some aspects have not been touched in the revised document (some were maintained) there is a high hope that amendments will cater for those vital aspects of the NASPA Constitution for unity and cooperation to prevail in order to champion the best course for all National Service Personnel (NSP) nationwide.
All National Service Personnel (NSP) are urged to read the document and be abreast with how the association is governed right from the National to District level
