John Dramani Mahama, Former President of Ghana has promised to abolish the NTC licensure examination in his next administration.
The flagbearer for the second popular party in Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) disclosed at Wenchi, Bono Region that his next government will abolish the licensure exams for teacher trainees and restore the automatic employment of teacher trainee graduates.
His word was given at the “Building Ghana” tour which was held in Wenchi, Bono Region.
According to JM, the said “would-be teachers” have sat for several exams from the college system (throughout the 4 years journey) hence, the licensure exams is “needless”.
The teacher trainees are well-equipped for the teaching career they opted for.
“This is unnecessary. In our next administration, we will cancel the licensure exams.”
“We will abolish the obnoxious licensure exams for teacher trainees and restore the automatic employment of teacher trainee graduates.”
It could be recalled that he mentioned the same promise in his 2020 manifesto.
“Let me state unequivocally that no teacher trainee graduate will be denied posting or employment under the next Mahama government,” JM said emphatically.
