The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has clarified the reason behind the suspension of salaries of employees on the Government of Ghana (GoG) payroll system.

According to CAGD’s release dated March 20, 2025 it was stated “During our routine review of reports from the Government of Ghana’s (GoG) Payroll System, the Department has identified inconsistencies in the National Identification Authority (NIA) numbers provided by some of the employees on the GoG Payroll System, resulting in the suspension of their salaries for March 2025.”

“It would be appreciated if you could submit the staff list (Nominal Roll) for the affected employees of your institution to facilitate a comprehensive investigation and the subsequent release of their salaries, CAGD directed.

CAGD instructed Heads of Human Resource (HRs) to undertake an official exercise to rectify the challenge. “Heads of Human Resource (HRs) should retrieve the terminated employees’ data from their respective corporate emails. Heads of HRs are required to submit corrected data including explanatory remarks for all affected employees per the attached template by 4th April, 2025.”

“The data should be submitted to electronically ppd.nominalroll@cagd.gov.gh and ppdcoordination2@gmail.com. For further clarification, please contact Naakie Osam-Sackey (0244371804) and Michael Arku-Kelly (0554428943),” CAGD.
