NTC urges GES to declare May 21st holiday for teachers’ National CPD Day

Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) officially wrote to the Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES), Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, on May 12, 2025, to declare Wednesday, May 21, 2025, as a holiday to enable teachers to partake in the National Continuous Professional Development (NCPD) Day.

UPDATE ON THE NATIONAL CPD DAY TRAINING FOR TEACHERS

Reference to a correspondence from KATON 360 updating the Council on the training on Mental Health and Psychosocial Well-being which our two agencies assigned them to implement.

According to Messrs KATON, Phase 1 of the programme has been successfully completed through face-to-face sessions across all regions. The next phases will be delivered virtually.

All master facilitators have been adequately trained and are prepared to cascade the online modules across all 261 districts. Attached to their letter are the training schedules for this term and account details for each district.

The training is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 21st May 2025 nationwide.

The Council requests:

  1. that in line with the National CPD Day arrangement, you declare Wednesday. 21 May 2025 a National CPD Day to enable all teachers participate in the training.
  2. that you communicate this information to all Regional and District Directors of Education and encourage them to collaborate with the National CPD Facilitators to ensure the smooth rollout of the online training phases.
