MoE/GES organises sensitization Workshop for Regional and District Directors on Communities of Excellence Programme

The Ministry of Education (MoE) organized an orientation and sensitization workshop for Regional and District Directors on the Communities of Excellence Programme (CEP) on Monday 5th February 2024.

The Communities of Excellence Programme is a brainchild of the Minister for Education, Hon. Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum designed to improve learning outcomes by enhancing the resources available at the school and community level focused on foundational literacy and numeracy, increasing community and parental engagement in basic education one community at a time.

The first cohort of the CEP starts in 700 schools, 332 communities in 40 districts across the 16 regions.

This comes after a successful pilot phase implementation in 2022 in 245 schools in 3 districts: Akuapem South, Bosome Freho and Lambussie, with support from T-TEL. UNICEF also supported us in implementing it in 133 schools across 2 districts: Afram Plains and Builsa North.
