GES opens door for 2023 College of Education graduates posting: Recruitment budget submitted – TTAG

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has prepared and submitted a recruitment budget for the 2023 College of Education (CoE) graduates, according to the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG).

The Leadership of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG), on 2nd June, 2025, engaged the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service to seek clarity on the long-standing concerns regarding the postings of 2023 graduate teachers from the public Colleges of Education.

The TTAG delegation, led by H.E. Razak Soale, met the Director-General, Prof. Frank Kofi Davis, in the company of key officials from the Directorate, including the Head of Legal Affairs, Internal Auditor, Head of Public Relations, and the General Secretary of the Ghana Education Service to gather facts from the ground.

The team, after engagement with GES, came out with a report on what has been done so far for the 2023 College of Education graduates and the reason behind the delay of their postings.

The report following key outcomes from TTAG’s engagement is as follows:

  1. GES has prepared and submitted the full recruitment budget covering all graduate teachers from the public Colleges of Education.
  2. The budget has been successfully defended and approved by the Ministry of Finance and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education.
  3. The process is currently awaiting financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance after which GES will commence recruitment and posting

According to the communique released by TTAG on June 6, 2025 on the subject matter, “The Director-General was emphatic in his assurance that recruitment will certainly take place this year. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent recruitment process for all affected graduates, especially as this will mark his first recruitment exercise.”

“We appreciate the Director-General’s openness and proactive approach to addressing our concerns. We also appeal to all relevant authorities to act with urgency to ensure that the necessary financial clearance is secured without delay,” TTAG leadership stated.

“We remain committed to keeping the 2023 College of Education graduates informed and will continue to engage key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Finance, to expedite the clearance process. We urge all 2023 graduates to remain calm and confident as we push for timely postings,” TTAG assured 2023 CoE graduates.
